Christina Loukaki, was born on the island of Crete in Greece and she has a degree on English Philology and Literature at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki but dance was always her greatest love. Already from the age of 4, she started training in rhythmic gymnastics and a year later, in traditional Cretan folk dances. She was a performer as a young dancer, for almost ten years and she was teaching already from the age of 15.Later on, she danced ballroom dances, Cuban salsa, Argentine tango and finally 2006, she met Lindy Hop and instantly fell in love with it. Together with Alexandros Marinis and Michael Widmer, introduced Lindy Hop in the country the same year, forming Lindy Hop Greece. These days she is living and teaching in Stockholm, enjoying her travelling seminars and teachers trainings. She loves exploring swing music and believes in the healing power of dance. Her passion is teaching and passing the culture and Afro-American heritage of lindy hop and jazz culture to her students. Christina is a versatile teacher who is interested in pedagogy, several teaching methods and techniques. She has been teaching in several countries around the world for the past 10 years, Lindy Hop, Authentic Jazz, Blues and several theme classes on musicality and self-expression as well as improvisation which a main line of her teaching. She worked with kids in Summer Camps for 3 years where she used Experiential Learning method, also she has been studying and practicing, NVC method for almost 5 years. She is experienced with kids and youngsters.
